Buena is a native San Franciscian, born and raised. Her first break into the biz was in 1979 as a Kelly Girl temp in the front office of One Pass Film & Video. She was hired two days later and became their official staff "Den Mother" for the next twelve years. When One Pass (then Editel San Francisco) burned to the ground in 1991, Buena took a long-overdue vacation. Bruce Goronsky, formerly of Fleet Street Pictures, and Scott Ross, formerly of ILM, pulled her from her life of ease in January 1992 to help coordinate a Valentine´s Day roast for local industry pioneer Taylor Phelps. When folks found out Buena was free, the offers for work started pouring in from ad agencies and post houses from coast to coast. After freelancing for Real Time Video and the Kenwood Group, she joined SFPG in August 1992. P.S. Buena knows everybody in this town. |
