![]() | Debras career began in Los Angeles as a producer for Picture of Health, a daily magazine show broadcast locally. She then moved to Telesound, a film production company to serve as vice-president and executive producer. It was here that she produced promotional campaigns for NBC affiliates nationwide.
Debra joined SFPG in 1987 to establish their production department and serve as executive producer. She was promoted to president and CEO in 1991. It was then that she began to steer the company in a new direction - away from the traditional post-production facility towards a creative house for the commercial, corporate, and interactive markets. The successful companies are those that are able to redefine themselves to a rapidly changing marketplace says Debra. The hardware wars are over and clients instead are looking for creative and technical expertise.
She oversaw the acquisition and integration of SOME Interactive in 1996. This added muscle for SFPGs new media needs and enabled the company to reorganize into four different service groups: The Editorial Group, New Media Group, Design Group, and Post & Sound Services. These groups give the company the flexibility and maneuverability to make available a wide range of technical and creative services under one roof while focusing appropriate resources and talent on individual projects. Debra is very active in the broadcast and media community. She is a past president of the local ITS Chapter, has served on the board of AICP and continues to speak as a panelist at seminars for NAB, BDA, and ITS. |
