The ClientElectronics For Imaging came to SFPG to produce a multimedia piece for the Seybold trade show and conference in New York. They wanted to herald to Seybold attendees that EFI revolutionized color printing and continues to transform the printing and graphics world. EFI is the dominant player in a multi-billion dollar field they created, On Demand, Short-Run color printing. Quite simply, they invented a way to print color cheaper, faster and with higher quality than anyone before or since. Their Fiery brand of color servers is now synonymous with high quality, color printing.SFPG created a :60 video with an 8:00 Macromedia Director piece to accompany a live presenter, imprinting Fiery's contributions and announcing EFI's upcoming product line to the Seybold audience. The ProductThe multimedia piece opens with a :60 video attract loop designed by Dave Mackie. The video message is "Welcome To The Revolution". It begins with an animated text treatment emphasizing two types of change: Evolution which is slow, methodical and orderly and Revolution which is quick and cataclysmic. A rapid montage of revolutionary icons is comped over an animated background. Sound design was done by Leroy Clark, which underscores the cacophony of change that certain products has brought. The video ends with the message "Fiery Revolutionized Color Printing"; and "Welcome to the Revolution".We now segue into an 8:00 Director piece with a live talent demonstration. The Director presentation, designed by Chip Breitweiser, utilizes original graphics, graphic elements from the attract loop and EFI product shots. The Director piece emphasizes and illustrates the live presenter's address. SFPG created, designed and produced this show that ran 21 times during the 3 days of Seybold. Despite an impossibly short deadline, SFPG and EFI succesfully paired together to create a show that met and exceeded expectations. EFI has since returned to SFPG repeatedly for other multimedia and video projects. |
