The Challenge

Thomas Kinkade's oil paintings are renowned worldwide for their luscious use of light and detailed images of nature. The 'Painter of Light' creates highly romantic works that portray idealized images of simpler living; cottages ensconced in woods, windswept seascapes of rugged grandeur or idyllic beauty.

The Approach

The limited resolution of video runs counter to the fine detail of Kinkade's paintings. His ability to instill hope and joy into a simple piece of fabric by covering it with pigment has earned him his legion of fans. Shooting the paintings on our IMC stand (some paintings as large as 24" x 36"), we are able to zoom in and capture the subtle details suffused in the canvas. By tracking the sweeping vistas or following the rugged grandeur of the art, we're able to record Kinkade's opulent display of light and detail.

These 'collaborations with nature' have global appeal, with Kinkade's fans numbering in the millions. By creating video press releases and documentaries of specific works, galleries and art lovers around the world are able to learn of new and in-progres works.
