Ron Colberg

Senior Editor

Ron pic Ron began his eighteen year career in Chicago at Optimus and The Daily Planet editing film and video tape. His work included comercials for hair products, sugar-laden breakfast cereals and Mr. Clean (he really is that big!), several documentaries and a bunch of music videos by bands no one has ever heard of.

In 1983 Ron reluctantly left his beloved Cubs (but gladly left Chicago's sometimes difficult weather) for San Francisco. He joined a post production company that proceeded to go out of business nine months later (it's funny now). SFPG heard about Ron's bad luck, took pity on him and offered him the job of Senior Editor. He took it.

Big time commercial work includes spots for Hal Riney and Partners (The Mirage Hotel, PBS and Stroh's), Chiat Day (Rainier Light and Nissan), CRS Advertising (Charles Schwab), Ketchum (Hunt-Wesson) and Citron, Haligman and Bedecarre (Foundation Health and Allure Magazine). Big deal projects at SFPG include Luis Valdez's television release of Corridos! starring Linda Ronstadt, a documentary about Peter Stackpole's photographs of the men who built the Golden Gate Bridge, and a package of program opens for Showtime directed by Colossal's Drew Takahashi.

Ron has just finished editing a 30 minute film and 13 commercials for Black Star Beer with Hal Riney and Partners.
